Research projects - Prof. Dr. Ralf Kemkemer

We seek to understand how cells interact with their native extracellular environment and biomaterials. In particular, we are studying how various signals like topography, stiffness and chemistry of the extracellular environment cooperatively affect basic cell functions. In addition, we work on different topics in cell mechanics and tumor cell migration. We develop appropriate technical tools and microsystems for our research and cell diagnostics applications.

Selected research projects of Prof. Dr. Ralf Kemkemer:

>> Projects on pancreas tumor cell migration

>> Projects on motility of cell fragments

>> TOKMIS

>> Project MPI IS

>> MigChip

Funding comes from the BMBF, State of Baden-Württemberg, Stifterverband der Deutschen Wirtschaft, Vector-Stiftung, and others.
